Why I’m Starting This Blog: Smiles and Chaos

Welcome to my little corner of the internet—a space for real talk about motherhood, womanhood, and the beautiful chaos of life after baby.

I’ve wanted to start a blog for a while now, but life had other plans. Mainly, I became a mother. My son was born almost a year ago, and it’s been a whirlwind—exhausting, magical, messy, and full of joy. I wanted to document this journey from the beginning, but I was simply too drained. Now feels like the right time. I’m finally ready to reflect, share, and maybe even heal.

The Meaning Behind “Smiles and Chaos”

Why the name? Because it sums up motherhood—and life. The giggles and the meltdowns. The joy and the struggle. I don’t want to sugarcoat things, but I also don’t want to dwell in the dark. I want to be real. And real means showing both sides.

My husband says I’m a pessimist. I say I’m a realist. Either way, this blog is my space to be honest. I hope it becomes a space for others too—especially those who feel like they’re losing themselves in the whirlwind of parenting, womanhood, or just daily life.

Motherhood Changed Me

Before giving birth, I imagined what kind of parent I’d be. But the truth is, you don’t really know until you’re in it. And once you’re in it, even the simplest things—like showering or drinking water—can feel impossible.

Motherhood cracked me open in ways I didn’t expect. It’s made me more vulnerable, more creative, and more determined to connect. This blog is my way of doing that.
